Our Business

The risk management discipline in worldwide industry is evolving to include advanced information systems and services that result in lowering operating costs and increasing the level of customer service and security. Blackburn Group, Inc. is consulting with our distributors and their clients to improve profitability, and to simplify and transform the business processes.  Our products and services allow our clients to leverage their existing resources thereby decreasing costs and improving quality for their risk and insurance programs. 

The primary concern of risk management officials is to stabilize the risk costs and provide the maximum amount of operational risk mitigation processes to their organizations.  Our RiskPro products include tools to manage all revenue and operational risks on an enterprise wide basis.    

Our History

Blackburn Group, Inc. is pioneering the use of technology to simplify workflow, decrease costs and improve the quality of programs throughout the risk management industry. We have designed and developed a client/server and Internet-based information and transaction platform, the "Blackburn Platform," that allows us to create Risk Management Networks (RMN), that facilitate and streamline interactions among the myriad participants in the risk management industry. The Blackburn RMN solution includes a suite of products and services delivered through applications operating on our client/server and Internet-based platform. Our solution enables the secure exchange of information among disparate risk management information systems and supports a broad range of risk management transactions, including underwriting and claims management. We provide our own applications on the Blackburn Platform and also enable third-party applications to operate on the platform. In addition to Risk Management Networks, we provide comprehensive consulting, development, implementation and network management services to enable our customers to take full advantage of the capabilities of the Platform.

The demand for risk management systems is growing as senior managers seek new approaches to reduce the cost of traditional insurance programs. These systems are utilized by chief financial officers, risk managers, claim managers, insurance personnel, and business owners to assist in evaluating the options for managing the risks that businesses face today. By using a risk management information system and associated services, a business can reduce their cost of insuring against risk by 20% - 50%. Thus, firms in any industry that have insurable risks (e.g. general liability, property, workers' compensation, product liability, etc.), can benefit from risk management programs.

In 1991, Robert Blackburn founded Blackburn Group, Inc. as a risk management consulting company. Since that time, our primary goal is to provide quality software and related risk management consulting services, though distributors, to the business community. To achieve this goal, Blackburn Group, Inc. offers specialized advanced risk management financial consulting, software, technical assistance to businesses as they apply advanced computer techniques, and consulting services to companies unfamiliar with or unsure about the application of financial techniques and computer technology to risk management needs.

Blackburn Group, Inc. currently markets our RiskPro products and services through our distribution network to firms worldwide. Customer support and service are essential elements of the risk management program. Our distribution partners provide on-going support for clients from their offices.

To assist our clients in their risk management efforts, we are:

Leveraging Internet technology to provide secure transactions and communications among a broad range of risk management participants, regardless of their computing platforms;

Expanding the functionality and transaction capability of our platform through the development, acquisition or enabling of Internet-based applications;

Forming additional strategic relationships to increase our portfolio of applications and services, to increase the number of connected risk management participants and to provide specialized industry expertise for our new applications;

Targeting regional markets where we can gain critical mass, thereby expanding internationally region by region; and

Employing our usage-based business model to reduce the initial investment required by customers.
